Turn Off ITunes Ping (see screenshot). Further more disable Push checking of email, especially for MS Exchange accounts. With this configuration I’m getting noticeable battery performance. If this is consistent I’d probably refrain from going to IOS 5. More updates coming.

IOS 4.3.3 3GS Battery drain?

Are you experiencing a huge battery drain on your iPhone 3GS running a Jailbreaked IOS 4.3.3? Yes? Let me guess you’ve got Intelliscreen installed. This awesome application that can be downloaded from Cydia is the culprit. It just cuts your battery life by 50% or more. It’s a total shame as it is the alternative to the IOS 5 notification feature. It provides a curtain that you scroll down from the status bar displaying current notifications and alerts. It also displays the weather forecast.

Features over battery life? Battery life of course! Good bye Intelliscreen.

IOS 5 Feature – if you’re into tweeting and like attaching photos to your tweets then IOS 5 is for you. Tweet your pictures directly from the iDevice camera roll. Nice for some but prefer Qtweeter (cydia) or tweetdeck (app store).

Yes you know about Multi-Tasking on IOS4+ iDevices by simply double pressing the Home Button (you didn’t know that?). And to close these open apps you just have to press one of the icons for a few seconds and the “(-)” will appear on the icon corner allowing you to close the apps. Cool? Well hell yeah, but there is one app that is even cooler, Direct Closer Pro.

Direct Closer Pro works similar to the native IOS multi-tasking but instead of making you do the extra few steps in closing the apps the “(-)” will visible/active as soon as you Multi-Task (double press the Home Button). This app is awesome. So go ahead multi-task and free up your iDevice memory just by a press of a button, or two 🙂
